Join artist Wayne Chunat and explore water mediums. We will meet for three consecutive Tuesday evenings. In the three sessions I will introduce you to sumi, watercolor, gouache, acrylics, equipment, materials, the pros, and cons. This is structured for beginning to intermediate level.
Session 1. Narrative discussing pluses, minuses, equipment first one-half hour, remaining time
will be a watercolor 8x10 practical, I will provide subject.
Session 2. Questions and answers, Gouache, 8x10 practical, subject of your choice
Session 3. Question and answers, Acrylics, 8x10 practical, subject of your choice
Where: Brick Street Gallery, 2607 Orleans Ave, Lakeland, Florida
When: Tuesday evenings 6-8pm November 8,15,22, 2022
Workshop fee: $125 for the three sessions
Minimum 6, maximum of 8 participants

Materials to bring: First session
Basic watercolor set, small tube or pan
Basic colors: Cad Red, Cad Yellow, Ultramarine blue, Titanium White.
Secondary colors: Burnt Umber, Burnt sienna, Teal, Payne’s grey
Brushes: Your personal selection include a mop if you have one, 1” flat, #6 or 8 round and a script or rigger
Additional equipment: 2 water bowls, small spray bottle, masking tape or blue painters’ tape, sketch book, hair drier. Ruler, #2 pencil, kneaded eraser, drop cloth.
Pallet: white flat enamel pan or 2 or 3 white Styrofoam plates
Supports: I will supply paper for first session. 140 lb. weight cold press
Session 2&3 You are asked to bring two photo references of the subject of your choice: one in color and the same image in black and white. Make it simple. Or if you so choose one will be provided for you.
